Australian Graduate School of Management MBA Profile

UNSW John Niland Scientia Building

The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), based in Sydney, is a business school with an international reputation for management research.

The AGSM was established in 1977 by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) as Australia's first national school of postgraduate management studies. In January 1999, it merged with the Graduate School of Business of the University of Sydney (USYD). In November 2005, a decision was taken to revert the school to being wholly owned by UNSW.

In January 2007, the school officially merged with the UNSW Faculty of Commerce and Economics. In addition to the integration, the Faculty of Commerce and Economics also changed their name to the UNSW Faculty of Business and will relocate into the new Heffron Building in mid-2007.

Today, the AGSM offers a full-time MBA program in Sydney, a part-time MBA program throughout Australia and in Hong Kong, a Graduate Certificate in Change Management, a Masters of Law and Management, and a range of executive education programs. The AGSM is also a major research school that houses and is affiliated with numerous research centres. Most notable is the Accelerated Learning Laboratory which was awarded $2.1 million in Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grants in 2006.
