Ivey's mission is to develop business leaders who think globally, act strategically and contribute to the societies within which they operate.
The Richard Ivey School of Business is located on the campus of The University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, midway between Toronto and Detroit, Michigan. The business school also has two executive teaching facilities: Ivey's Toronto campus located in the Exchange Tower in the financial district of Toronto and Spencer Conference Centre, the home of the Ivey MBA program located a short distance from the London campus. Ivey also has a campus in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre where it offers an Executive MBA and Executive Development programs.
It was first established as the Department of Commercial Economics in 1922. By 1950 it had become a separate faculty at the university, and in 1995 was renamed the Richard Ivey School of Business in honour of businessman and philanthropist Richard G. Ivey. A leader in the case method approach to management learning, it is the world's second largest producer of business cases behind Harvard Business School. Carol Stephenson, former CEO of Lucent Technologies Canada, was appointed dean of the school in 2003.
